If you stroll around the plethora of Portland food carts, you'll notice a number of carts with a 1 or 2 people in line, and then you'll see one cart with 30 people hovering around it. Ladies and gentleman, you have found Nong's Khao Man Gai. It's a simple 8x8-foot cart where they only offer 1 item on the menu. You guessed it - Khao Man Gai. This Thai rendition of steamed chicken on a bed of white rice, is garnished with cucumber and cilantro, and served with an outstanding pungeon sauce, which is a soy bean puree mixed with garlic, ginger, thai chilies, vinegar and sugar. Simple, delicious, and worth the 5 to 10 minute wait.
